someday.somehow.

drewtrinnh:

When we first met, she told me that she didn’t believe in love. She told me she hated staying up on the phone at night: that it was stupid and unnecessary. She once told me that she liked girls more than she liked guys. She also told me she hated the notion of talking to someone all day, every day. And finally, she mentioned that she would never be mine.
Quite simply, I told her, “I’m going to change that.”
For the past 104 days, I’ve talked to her all day, every day. I’ve given her every second I could afford, and I’ve cleared my schedules just to see her for an hour. We’ve talked until the wee hours of the morning almost every night, and I’ve fallen in love with her yawns and the way she stares at me from across the room. She’s opened up to me in ways I never actually thought she would, and I’ve tried my best to treat her the way I’d want a guy to treat my sister. We call each other Ugly and Stupid, and we understand quite well just how different we are from the norm. We’re not your ordinary couple, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
But you know what the best feeling is? It’s when you accomplish what you put your mind to. It’s when she finally calls you instead of the other way around. It’s when she tells you that you’re the best thing that’s happened to her. And it’s when she says, “Baby, I’m yours.”
To the guys, my advice in loving someone is to love her like it’s her last day to live. Don’t let her go to sleep angry or upset. Remind her how amazing she is in your eyes, and never for a second doubt her. Don’t hurt her, don’t change her, don’t analyze and don’t expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she’s not there.
If Arimi’s taught me anything, it’s that I’ve been a fool all of my life for being so naive LOL. But more importantly, she’s taught me that love takes time. It can’t be rushed, nor forced. Like any plant in your garden, in order to grow it the right way, you must have a kind and delicate patience, you must nurture it every day with a precise dedication, and you have to keep hope that it’ll still be there tomorrow when you come back.
